Payment and Refund Terms

These are the terms Web Design Lab (ABN 38 166 816 736) works to. They are written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask before you pay, not after.
What things cost

Prices are in Australian dollars and are quoted in writing before any work starts. The price changes only if you ask for something outside the agreed scope, and we tell you the cost first. There are no surprise charges.
GST
No GST is charged. Web Design Lab is not registered for GST, so no GST is added to any price and none appears on your invoice. Our invoices are titled "Invoice" rather than "Tax Invoice" for this reason.
When you pay
The full amount is paid before work begins. You can pay by card on our website through Stripe, or by bank transfer if you prefer. The card processing cost is already inside our price, so nothing is added at payment time. Invoices, where used, are payable within 7 days.
The care plan is billed monthly and you can stop it whenever you want.
If you cancel
What happens to money already paid depends on how much work has been done.

| If we fail to deliver what was agreed | Refund of amounts paid, less the value of any work you keep and can use. |
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing here reduces your consumer rights, and nothing could. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
If there is a major problem, you can cancel and get a refund, though you would still pay a reasonable amount for work already completed. If the problem is minor, we fix it within a reasonable time at no cost to you.
These guarantees apply to business customers too, for services under $100,000. We mention that because plenty of suppliers quietly hope you do not know it.
Revisions
Two rounds of changes are included, requested within 14 days of the first design. Further rounds, or changes after the site is live, are quoted separately before any work happens.
What you own
Once the final payment clears, the website design, the page content and the files are yours. The domain is registered in your name and stays yours whatever happens between us. Hosting is set up in your name and you keep control of it. We may show the finished site in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.
What is not included
Unless it is written into your quote, these are separate work and quoted on their own:
- Online bookings and appointment systems
- Online shops and payment processing
- Customer logins or member areas
- Copywriting from scratch, and photography
- Ongoing content changes after the site is live
